A round pull cut in two down the middle, sold as a set of two halves in solid ash. Fitted either side of the gap between two doors, the halves close up into a single circle; fitted on one door, each half works on its own.

It works both ways round. On a pair of side-by-side doors the split runs vertically, which is the usual arrangement. On a wall unit above a base unit, or on two drawers stacked one over the other, turn the halves through ninety degrees and the split runs horizontally instead — same set, same screws, nothing changes but the orientation.

Three sizes, from an 80 mm circle for a bathroom cabinet to a 200 mm one on a wardrobe. The face is domed rather than flat, so the edge of each half stands slightly proud of the other and the fingers find it without looking. Twelve finishes, from bare wood to the darkest of the dyed colours — the price changes with size only, not with finish.

Mounting

Decide first which way the split will run: vertically, between two side-by-side doors, or horizontally, between two fronts stacked one above the other. The steps are the same either way — the pairs of holes simply run along the split rather than across it.

  1. On each front, mark two points at the centre distance for your size — 32 mm, 96 mm or 128 mm — running parallel to the split.
  2. Drill a 4 mm hole at each of the four points, through the front.
  3. Pass an M4 × 30 mm screw through each hole from the back and thread it into the insert in the half, tightening by hand with the straight edge along the split.
  4. Finish each screw with a quarter turn of a screwdriver — no more. Overtightening pulls the insert out of the wood.

Two screws per half fix the orientation for you — once both are in, the straight edge cannot rotate. What still has to be right is the alignment: measure both fronts from the same reference edge rather than from each other, close them, and check before the screws grip. A millimetre out on either side is visible at 200 mm. If your front is thinner than 24 mm, the screws will stand proud inside the inserts; that is normal and does not affect how the pull holds.
Materials & workshop

Wood: solid ash, single block per half. Hardware: two threaded metal inserts and two M4 × 30 mm screws per half.

Eleven of the twelve finishes use ADLER Legno Dura-Öl, an Austrian oil-based finish. It leaves a matt, open-pored surface — the colour sits in the wood rather than on top of it, so a green pull still reads as ash and not as painted board — while resisting water and household chemicals the way a varnish would. The oil is certified to EN 71-3 for the migration of heavy metals, and to DIN 53160-1 and 53160-2 for saliva and perspiration resistance. The twelfth option, Unfinished, is bare sanded ash with no coating; it is the palest of the set and darkens with handling.

Cut, shaped, sanded and finished in our own workshop in Roman, Romania. The two halves of a set are cut from the same board and kept together through finishing, so the grain runs on across the join and the colour matches — that is the whole point of the shape, and it is the reason we do not sell them singly. On the L size the circle is 200 mm across, which means each half carries a long straight edge that has to stay dead straight after oiling.
Care

Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth. The oil finish resists water and household cleaners, so no special product is needed and none is recommended.

The straight inner edges are where the hand lands, so on Unfinished pulls that is where the wood darkens first. If you would rather it did not, oil them yourself before fitting.
